friends, er and new york

apologies for the delay since my last post. it’s been quite an interesting week.

first of i had my open house last saturday. i’m thinking probably well over a hundred people came to that. gosh it was so great to see everyone. quite a few friends i haven’t seen in a long time came too. even one of my best friends parents (and sister) from elementary school-days came to visit. it was a great time to share what i was doing in south africa with everyone and telling them the need. there was a pretty good response of one-time supporters and prayer supporters. we had a ton of food and nearly all of it was eaten up.

sunday we had church and i went a couple hours early for practice. it was definitely sad to know that it would be the last time i’d play worship at my church in such a long time. i’m going to miss playing with such a great group of people and to be under rj’s leadership as he led worship. he does such a wonderful job and he bears such great fruit from what he does with the gift of music that God has given him. worship went so well and we played on of my favorite songs (mighty to save). they played my promo video after worship and pastor steve invited me up to share a bit with what i was doing in south africa. i did have an opportunity to share the need of finances and prayer which was really a blessing. i feel so blessed a lucky to have such a loving church who is behind me in what God has lead me to do. thank you so much orchard ridge.

lastly, my parents took me out last night to a wonderful dinner at andiamo’s. but unfortunately earlier in the day i was getting small cramps and by the time it got to dinner time i was in horrible pain in my appendix. so much so that we had to leave the restaurant before we even got out food and went straight to the ER. i was so scared about what it could be but after hours and hours at the hospital i found out that it was only a small infection that can easily be treated with antibiotics. the doctor told me it looked like it could have been appendicitis but she was happy that it wasn’t so that i could still get on my flight thursday for new york. if you could still keep my in your prayers because there is still some pain and i’m hoping the antibiotics kick in quick.

i leave tomorrow morning for new york to spend a few days with the mayesCommunitas. i’ll be there until sunday and then i’ll fly out to south africa. please be praying for me as i travel around. family. they are starting a branch of kensington church in manhattan called

that’s all fokes!

1 Thought so far - Tell me what you think
