What I’ve been reading
Lately I’ve been reading less books and more blogs. As much as I’d like to be reading more books it’s been a little bit harder finding time to do that since I work on my computer quite a bit. But I figured I’ll combine both of them in this little list of what I’ve been reading…
- One Thing: Boldly Pursuing All That Matters by Dwayne Roberts – I love getting deals on books. I got this from Relevant Books (Relevant Magazine‘s online book store) for $4 (along with a ton of other books for $4 each). Anyways, this book is truly a must read. Dwayne talks about the one thing that matters in life and focusing on that in every aspect of life spiritually and practically.
- Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan – I’ll be honest… some people say I have a “man crush” on Francis Chan. He’s from a church called Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, California. I listen to his podcast of his church service every week and I’m slightly obsessed. If you don’t purchase the book at least check out a sermon or two (Lukewarm and Loving It is my favorite one).
- Zen Habits (blog) – I don’t read it for the ‘zen’ but the practicality I gotta agree with sometimes. I’m a big fan of simplicity and minimalism and Zen Habits talks a lot about it in different ways for different areas of life.
- My Life… Shared by Amy Reip (blog) – Right now she’s Thrive Africa’s interim director but she is also a great writer on the side sharing her thoughts about being a mom, leader and missionary and how God fits into it all.
- Thrive Africa‘s blog – In case you weren’t aware this is the organization I work for in South Africa. Expressing the in’s and out’s of what our mission organization does in the field and in the office. It’s always a fun read to see what God is doing (also what you are doing as a support) in southern Africa.
Let me know what you’re reading…

Finally you’re reading Crazy Love! I’ve read it all the way through twice. Francis is so encouraging and very straight forward. I like him a lot.

YES! It’s so good. I read it a while back but I go back through it often. Such a good book. I love the boldness that God’s given him.
